Morning! How was your weekend? I spent mine with a good mix of work , pleasure and a little smidge of DIY!
It’s really easy to get great looking shabby chic in your kitchen for very little cost. I bought this pair of chairs from Brighton Marina market….go early for the best choice …..or as Sundays sometimes dictate go late……this can go in your favour….the prices sometimes drop in the last hour because traders don’t want to take goods home…..so I bought my pair of chairs for only £10……we also picked up a valet stand for £2!
Originally the chairs had been red and someone had made a really bad job of trying to paint them white. So on with the job in hand….no prep….no sanding or priming….just a pot of Annie Sloan’s Chalk Paint in Paris Grey and a brush.
I allowed the paint to dry overnight and the next day used Annie Sloan’s Clear Wax to buff the chairs and valet stand and seal them….being kitchen chairs the wax helps to protect them from splashes and spills.
Allow another day for the wax to harden and there you have it. Parisian chair chic. Voila!
