Last week was a week of two halves.  On the one hand Mr B and team denisonboston are insanely busy this time of year fulfilling orders to stores such as Selfridges and John Lewis. As well as that every spare moment has been spent in overalls working on the house and the imminent office/studio move.  So when I’m not packing boxes I’m furiously painting another door or skirting board, glamorous it is not!

So I was pleasantly surprised last week to be invited to The Royal Automobile Club at Woodcote Park for a business lunch with the UKTI. The invite dress code said smart business suit, at last an opportunity to swap my overalls for snazzy business attire. Coincidentally I’d also been contacted by Laura Orchant Scarves last week to take a look at the new S/S 14 collection.

Laura’s scarves are hand drawn and often inspired by nature, she then digitally manipulates them into an explosion of bright colour and beautifully soft luxurious fabrics.

I was mailed a sample of ‘Leaf in Turquoise’ and wore it to the RAC luncheon with a simple black capri pant suit and The Liberte Satchel in Teal from Makki thrown in for good measure.  What a colour combo! Sometimes dressing up in a dark suit is all you need to do, let the accessories do the talking, which of course they did.  I’m sure that I secured some business funding solely on the pizzazz of that scarf!

This weekend it was back to the overalls and paint pots, I took a break on Sunday to go for a morning run in the beautiful sunshine and found this graffiti in our village, “The Haves and The Have Yachts”. I stopped to take a picture, to show Mr B who confirmed that we don’t fit into either.

Ah well I thought, as long as I can look the part with the help of some well styled accessories”!
