James Brown Haircare

You may have heard of James Brown, not the singer, I’m talking hairdressing royalty.  He shot to fame in his early 20’s when he styled a young Kate Moss for the cover of Vogue.

Since then, James has worked on numerous high-profile fashion shoots for magazines such as Vogue (British, American, French, Italian, Japanese), Harpers Bazaar, Elle, i-D and Glamour – for which James also writes a monthly column. His A-list client list continues to grow, and includes Kate Bosworth, Naomi Watts, Sarah Jessica Parker, The Beckhams, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kirsten Dunst, Julianne Moore, Lily Allen and Gisele, and his Fashion Week credentials include Fendi, Issa, Julien MacDonald, Max Mara, Temperley, Matthew Williamson and Zac Posen………..And breathe.

Having established his credentials and, realising I probably won’t get a do from the man himself I set about trying his collection of hair products.

As a curly girl my hair suffers from a little dryness, so I opted for the Rich Moisture Collection.

I found really good results from this brand.  On a curly day, the products  added texture and moisture and didn’t dry.  On a blow dry day they gave me that sleek texture and swing.

What I really enjoyed was the glossy sheen for hair that looks and feels soft and silky. Sounds funny but I rarely get this with products.

The moisture mask is also packed with goodness, almost like a face pack for the hair. Use up to once a week for best results.

I’m going for a curly look today safe in the knowledge my shampoo will have locked in moisture keeping my hair, curly bouncy and soft all day.

Love DSB x
