Sustainable Living – Studio 50

Honest Woman has got together with Kathryn Spence from UK knitwear brand Eleven Everything to bring you Sustainable Living Store at Studio 50, a new studio space in central Hove.

We have curated a lovely mix of locally made accessories and jewellery and sustainably sourced homeware and fashion. The store is located at 50 Brunswick Street West every Friday – Monday throughout Brighton’s May Festival.

Without further ado here’s a taster of who and what we will be showcasing….

Eleven Everything

The label combines fresh, contemporary design with strong silhouettes and striking colour combinations, infusing it with the timelessness of traditional knit techniques, such as luxe heavy gauge fisherman’s rib stitch.

Directed by Kathryn Spence the label is now based in Studio 50 Hove. Once designed, each accessory is ‘hand framed’ (a term used to describe the manual operation of traditional knitting machines) by a small team of skilled knitters, using only the finest natural yarns sourced from Scotland & Italy. Care is taken to ensure that the wool is ethically produced from raw fibre to finished spool. Once knitted and finished, the metallic foil details are then applied by hand at an East End of London artisan print studio.

Woven Store

The Woven Store was created as an online store presenting ‘non-disposable’ and sustainable brands to a conscious consumer.

Having run Woven the Agency for many years, Alby and Tilda have extensive experience sourcing emerging, premium crafted womenswear brands with a unique style.

Following the success of pop-up stores and buying for popular boutique Igigi, the edit for The Woven Store was chosen based on its’ unique earthy tone, blended with utility & Skandi looks and a Japanese minimalistic edge.

Dept. Store For The Mind

Vannucchi

Wood made valuable

Vannucchi is a unique, slow fashion, affordable jewellery brand, based in the South East of England.

Specialising in ethically sourced and created jewellery, designed and made by Dani Ellingham, in her home studio/workshop.

Named after her grandmother and paying homage to her grandparents, she has created a business combining her two loves, wood work and metalwork. She uses a combination of tropical hard woods and metals sourced by local suppliers.

Each collection has been carefully developed to enhance the natural qualities and colours of the woods used, incorporating surface patterns, clean lines and geometric shapes.

Dove & Myrtle

Jane supports British grown flowers and taps into her love of colour & texture to create beautifully wild and seasonal flowers as unique and as individual as each of her clients.  Her aesthetic is loose and un-manicured with a wonderfully just picked natural feel (sometimes the blooms are just that!) and fragrance.  To me, flowers are a celebration of nature & life and for that reason I embrace every kink and wayward stem – in my opinion, flowers & foliage look their best when allowed to just relax and do their thing.

DBS Leatherworks

Handmade luxury leather accessories made in Brighton by Drew. Small batches and unique one of designs make this lovely local brand one to watch.
