Gosh what a year. After home schooling for what seems a lifetime I think all Mums deserve a medal this year! Even if like me you’ve not been home schooling but not seen your Mum or someone special for a long time perhaps you are looking for something more to send this year than a card?

I looked to the Gods for Inspiration. ‘Dea’ the Roman Goddess of fertility, Motherhood & Women and ‘Persephone’- Greek Goddess of Women & Springtime.

Our Dea bouquet celebrates motherhood with its mix of soft peach and apricot shades with a flourish of sand coloured roses and delicate creamy rose pinks. It includes; Quick Sand Rose, Lisianshus , Anemone, Waxflower, Tulip, Eucalyptus & Mixed Foliage.

We paired this With Albourne Estate’s Sussex Rosé. Elegant, refreshing and very moreish, its crisp on the palate with subtle aromas of summer fruits and rose petals, this wine is perfect for sipping or food matching.   This first release made from predominantly 2019 Pinot Noir grapes is the perfect pick me up to give to Mum.

Persephone bouquet celebrates Women & Spring with its mix of Blue and Yellow sunshine colours, undertones of soft peach and apricot shades and delicate creamy rose pinks.

Albourne Estate English Sparkling Wine is generous and soft on the palate, it’s open and expressive, exhibiting delightful panettone-like aromas of sweet baked bread, dried apricots, nuts and candied citrus peels, courtesy of its extended time on lees.

Mother’s Day can be really tricky for some, a time to remember perhaps? Maybe a time to forget? We are not all mothers and we unfortunately don’t all have Mother’s around anymore.
