Hope you had a good Easter holiday. So nice to take some time off, see friends, cook for family, attempt DIY, gardening (weather permitting) and shop for an Easter treat!
My Mum said that when she was little, she and her sister were always made a new dress for Easter, a spring type Sunday best sort of dress with lace and ribbons, when they were very small with a bonnet and gloves. I think that’s why I associate Easter with a new outfit. Lucky for me just before Easter Modern Love invited me to a pop up shop in the beautiful Cameron Contemporary Gallery in Hove.
I’m a huge fan of Modern Love. I’m lucky enough to own some Modern Love treasures, sample pieces and one off gowns, also every day items, I have loads of their silk scarves which work as a good accessible entry point to the brand, they drape beautifully and go with practically anything,
Pop up shops are great fun, I met so many interesting people shopping through the rails. Kirsty from Cameron Contemporary Gallery, such a great calm space, amazing artwork. Diane a fellow northerner from Lampara who is collaborating with Sarah Arnett from Modern Love on a range of lampshades and cushions in the most beautiful bold colour prints.
Sarah and Kim from Modern Love, design with women in mind. Nature inspires digital Illustrations which transform into printed striking colour canvases in silk, cotton, georgette, jersey. The cut and the drape of the fabric gives a final refined feminine look. cotton day dresses, sexy little skirts, flowing kimono tops.
Needless to say I found something perfect for Easter, monochrome printed dress with a bold splash of yellow trees, fits like a glove. I wore it to dinner on Easter Sunday and cant wait to wear it again, Easter fashion loveliness without the bonnet, thank goodness fashion has moved on from ribbon and lace.
Go take a look at Modern Love in Liberty or online, perhaps sign up to their newsletters, you may be invited to their next pop up, I guarantee you really wont be disappointed.
Love,
DSB X
