August is finally here in all of its glory, full of Summer and holidays and opportunity. ย August makes life better. ย August is just peachy.
A walk in the park, a plodge in the sea, reading a book in the sunshine, dozing on a sunny afternoon. ย Ice Creams and sand in your toes. Sublime!
August is the one month in the fashion calendar that justifies time off. ย Alas this year we may not be chartering a yacht in the south of France or the Amalfi coast instead we have family staying with us and I intend to make the most out of our very summery month by entertaining in style, in honour of our very English Summer. ย BBQโs in the garden, cricket on the green, cucumber sandwiches, Pimms, picnics in the park, and fish and chips on the beach!
On Friday, I enjoyed a very British pastime, Afternoon Tea with fellow bloggers, Prince Cassius, and Nathalie and Danielle from Lady Loves. ย We choose the courtyard ย at Hotel Du Vin and were treated to plates of sandwiches, scones and strawberries & Cream. ย Delicious!
Iโm feeling a little English Summer nostalgia on the fashion front as well. ย Iโll be wearing white cotton dresses, cream coloured slacks, off the shoulder tops or shirts rolled up at the sleeve, perhaps a Panama hat and certainly a silk scarf.
