Mr B has designed a range of Cufflinks for Marussia F1 Team. They launched at a fashion show and party in Le Meridien Beach Plaza Hotel Monte Carlo. F1 drivers, wives and girlfriends all took to the catwalk to model collections from designers in the principality and outside sponsors. It was a very flash affair!… Read More Formula One Fashion Show Monaco

Seaham Hall

Me and Mr B headed north for Christmas to spend with family in Durham and York. One of our Christmas rituals is spending going back to Seaham Hall. We enjoyed a really romantic walk along the seafront at Seaham where the North Sea looks incredibly dramatic at this time of year. Waves crashing against the… Read More Seaham Hall

Rockliffe Hall Christmas Spa Treat

We usually spend Christmas in the North, visiting my parent’s in Durham and the Senior Boston’s in York.  Christmas is a lovely time for catching up with relatives, friends, eating and drinking and general merriment. I usually try to counteract the effects of such merriment with a pre-christmas Day Spa…..Oh I do like a good… Read More Rockliffe Hall Christmas Spa Treat

Our big day

They say your wedding will flash before your eyes and be over in an instant. Although I would have liked it to be longer I remember every minute! And what a day filled with joyous moments it was…..I think a good honest woman tip is relax….you shouldn’t be stressing over the flowers and chair covers… Read More Our big day

A little church and a lot of hotel…Part II

The trip ‘up north’ had resulted in securing our family church St Helen’s Church Kelloe, pretty and steeped in history, it had to be the place.  We also viewed a number of hotels, for me there was only ever two in the running…Rockliffe Hall and Seaham Hall  both are fab 5 star hotels with lovely… Read More A little church and a lot of hotel…Part II

A little church and a lot of hotel…Part I

Now although I live in beautiful seaside town of Brighton I do hail from a place somewhat further north than that.  Born and bred in God’s own country, County Durham I thought it appropriate to get married up north.  My folks still live in a little ex pit mining village called Kelloe in the same house… Read More A little church and a lot of hotel…Part I

About

I'm a florist who has recently gone back to her roots. From running a busy Florists business in Brighton and London, I've turned my back on city life and relocated back to the rural Durham countryside to grow a flower farm.

I'm going to continue sustainable floristry by using traditional seasonal practices. No single use plastics or floral foam. I'll be providing Wedding flowers and Farewell flowers as well as lots of workshops and short courses.

Growing my own flowers I'll supply British Flowers in Season during Spring, Summer and Autumn and in Winter I use dried flowers and small numbers of sustainable imports.

Until the 1970's we grew our own flowers in the UK now we fly them in. The majority of the UK's flowers are grown in Holland and Africa. Crazy isn't it? Buying local flowers means less airmiles and because they are not refrigerated the smell like flowers!
