Sunday Supplement #29

The strangest thing has happened to me in the last couple of months.  I’ve had a bit of an unplanned career change.  I’ve somehow and unintentionally gone from Fashion PR to Charity Shop Champion. I started volunteering for my local British Red Cross Charity Shop in Shoreham by Sea back in August of last year.… Read More Sunday Supplement #29

Sunday Supplement #27

Where did Sunday go? I’ve been lazily trying to rearrange my studio, I say lazily because apart from the cleaning I’ve been trying to rearrange my books.  Trouble is, every time I move a book to sort it, keep, chuck, or maybe? The book takes on a story from my past, a memory or a… Read More Sunday Supplement #27

Sunday Supplement #26

Sunday for me is such a good food day.  Sunday is the day to relax and take pleasure in leisurely preparing and eating your dinner. Sunday feels like a day when you don’t need to be just refuelling, you can take time to plan and cook and make the most wonderful things to eat and… Read More Sunday Supplement #26

Valentines – What Women Want

I love romance but Valentines Day can be tricky.  It’s all got a little bit commercial.  Is it about the biggest bunch of red roses?  Is it about the Michelin-starred meal?  The 5-star hotel or the super bling night out? Meh, more romance, less material fluff….You know? Here’s my none too costly picks for  a… Read More Valentines – What Women Want

Sunday Supplement #24

Hi. Hope you’re enjoying your weekend…… Just checking in. I’ve been working this week from our studio shed, too cold and windy to venture further, I’ve no High Street news to report as I’ve certainly not gone as far as London, nor Brighton for that matter. My sustainable fashion project continues.  This week I did… Read More Sunday Supplement #24

Well it’s certainly the middle of Winter.  My folks have snow in Durham. I do love a Winter Sunday, lighting the fires, lighting candles, listening to BBC Radio 6 music is a must. Sunday Supplement #21

Hey, How’s the holidays going? Are you Christmas cosy or festively frustrated? Have you had it with the relies? Too much turkey? One nerve left and Aunty Mabel is getting on it? Not to mention your kids, or someone else’s kids or your parents or partner are pressing your buttons.  Christmas can mean you’re being… Read More Sunday Supplement #21

Its Not Too Late! Gift Guide

Ok, so I’ll be honest, I started off so well with the present buying thing I thought I had it literally all wrapped up.  However when I’ve taken stock there’s another thing I wanted to buy for Mr B, a stocking filler for my mum, a little something extra for Dad and then my friends… Read More Its Not Too Late! Sunday Supplement #20 – Men’s Gifts

We all know how difficult men can be to buy for. I find it beyond tricky to buy for Mr B as he runs a menswear brand and has the accessories side of things pretty much covered. So I need to think beyond the obvious ties and socks. If you’re like me and still shopping online… Read More Sunday Supplement #20 – Men’s Gifts

Sunday Supplement #19 – Gift Edit

I know it’s just the start of December, but I can’t help talking about Christmas.  Christmas is everywhere, trees, decorations, parties, gatherings, family, friends and gifts. I’ve been gathering ideas for gifts for the past couple of months now.  Trouble is I cant share the actual gifts I’m giving as that would give the game away.… Read More Sunday Supplement #19 – Gift Edit

Hi What a difference a week makes!  Last Sunday I was hot footing it around Venice, plane, train, car, gondola, some work, some play.  More on that next week on the blog…. Here we are half way through November and I’m finally feeling the ‘C’ Word…..  Christmas that is! I’ve made a list of presents to buy, I’ve scoured department store magazines and spent countless hours surfing gifts online. Sunday Supplement #14

Hey Can you believe It’s November? We have noticed such a difference since the clock’s changed last weekend.  Walking the dog before dark has become a military operation.  Must get work complete, post done by 5pm and out of the door by 5.30.  So far this week I’ve been caught short twice, once on the… Read More Sunday Supplement #14

About

I'm a florist who has recently gone back to her roots. From running a busy Florists business in Brighton and London, I've turned my back on city life and relocated back to the rural Durham countryside to grow a flower farm.

I'm going to continue sustainable floristry by using traditional seasonal practices. No single use plastics or floral foam. I'll be providing Wedding flowers and Farewell flowers as well as lots of workshops and short courses.

Growing my own flowers I'll supply British Flowers in Season during Spring, Summer and Autumn and in Winter I use dried flowers and small numbers of sustainable imports.

Until the 1970's we grew our own flowers in the UK now we fly them in. The majority of the UK's flowers are grown in Holland and Africa. Crazy isn't it? Buying local flowers means less airmiles and because they are not refrigerated the smell like flowers!
